Kickstart a heart

THUMBS UP!!

Nikki Sixx, host of Premiere Radio Networks' Sixx Sense With Nikki Sixx and Side Show Countdown, has joined with Keep a Child Alive co-founders Leigh Blake and Alicia Keys for a "Digital Death" campaign in support of the AIDS charity.

As of December 1, World AIDS Day, Sixx, along with Keys and other celebrities including Ryan Seacrest, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, P. Diddy, Serena Williams, Usher, and Jennifer Hudson will sign off all social networking, including Facebook and Twitter, in solidarity with those in Africa and India affected by HIV and AIDS. The participating celebrities won't be back online until their digital lives have been "bought back," with $1 million raised for KCA.

"Twitter has become somewhat of a lifeline for many people, and I think this is a great way to support such a great cause," Sixx said. "I look forward to my tweet confirming we've reached our goal of $1 million."

KCA, founded in 2003, provides AIDS care and support to children and families affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.
